Resolution Honoring Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Association for Conservation Information is an organization of natural resource conservation communicators dedicated to craft improvement, the exchange of new ideas and the discussion of current environmental and fish and wildlife conservation issues, celebrating its 84th year, and
WHEREAS the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, led by Conference Coordinator Jason Harmon and an amazing team of coworkers, hosted the 2022 conference at the beautiful Drury Plaza, in Nashville, and
WHEREAS 121 attendees – a new ACI record – enjoyed a warm and friendly welcome reception at the Country Music Hall of Fame, where we had the whole place to ourselves, complete with food, drink and live entertainment and
WHEREAS keynote speaker Chandra Alston inspired us to work productively across generational barriers, to offer immediate praise and, when necessary, to say “Help me Man at the Table!” and
WHEREAS, Sarah Southerland, of Oklahoma, proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that Twitter posts can be absolutely hilarious without overshadowing important conservation messages and
WHEREAS attendees benefitted from over 20 other sessions and updates covering a variety of topics of importance to conservation communicators, and
WHEREAS the annual ACI Auction provided plenty of entertainment and camaraderie, while raising $8,850, and
WHEREAS some of us traveled to Buffalo Ridge, where we enjoyed the chance to shoot rifles, shotguns and compound bows, plus enjoy a delicious lunch followed by a demonstration of trapping gear and techniques, and
WHEREAS others enjoyed a guided walking tour of downtown Nashville, including stops at the Ryman Auditorium and the Musicians Hall of Fame, and
WHEREAS the Hospitality Suite and the dining room were sources of networking, bonding and amusement.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Association for Conservation Information, in a duly constituted and assembled meeting:
1. That we do hereby attest and record on behalf of the membership of ACI our love, esteem, respect and admiration for Jason Harmon and his energetic, efficient, personable and entertaining group of hosts from the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.
2. That the Association for Conservation Information is a better organization having been able to gather again in person to celebrate its 84th anniversary being hosted in Nashville by said organization.
3. That the members of the Association for Conservation Information will return to their home states recharged and inspired to deliver our messages of conservation in a way that is most appealing to our publics.
4. That we hereby record the sentiments of this resolution forevermore upon the minutes and records of the Association for Conservation Information.
