Contest Information

The annual ACI Awards Program is the only nationwide competition exclusively for conservation education, information and public relations professionals at state and federal agencies and conservation organizations. The deadline for submitting entries for the next competition is Friday, February 28, 2003. Entries must be in the category chairs' possession (postmarked does not count) by that date. All entries must have been produced during calendar year 2002.

Awards Program Information

The ACI awards competition is open to agency members only. Associate, individual and sustaining members are not eligible. Call ACI Treasurer David Rice at (775) 853-7374 if you have a question about your membership status.

The entry fee is $20 per entry. Do not send payment with your entry. David Rice will bill you in August.

Pay careful attention to the statement of purpose when filling out your entry form. This is the most heavily weighted judging criteria in every category. (In fact, in some categories it is the only judging criteria.) It should contain a brief description of the entry, the goals/objectives of the entry, the intended audience, budget guidelines and anything else you think the judges should consider. Remember, if judges do not know what you were trying to accomplish with your entry, they won't know how to measure its effectiveness and will probably deduct points accordingly.

Also in this packet are entry guidelines for the Izaak Walton League of America awards competition. Entries must be directly related to promoting more responsible behavior by outdoor recreationists in the field.
