Step Into the Future

Remember when having a Web site was a major innovation in communication? Today, digital communications and social networking tools are essential for a successful business. Web 2.0 has changed the foundation of communications and government agencies are joining the ranks. Join us this year at the 2009 ACI conference in Baton Rouge, LA as we explore this topic and how government agencies can safely open their electronic doors for business.

This year’s conference is slated for July 13-17 at the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center. The hotel is located in the center of downtown among the area’s most visited attractions including the Old Governor’s Mansion, USS KIDD Navy Warship, LSU Museum of Art, Louisiana Arts and Science Museum, the Pennington Planetarium and the Louisiana State Museum.

Work sessions this year will include discussions on several topics including new technology and communication tools, social networking, marketing for increased license sales, online magazines, and human dimension issues. There is something for everyone in your office.

Experience Louisiana

During the conference you’ll experience Louisiana’s historical treasures including the Louisiana Old State Capitol, a national historic landmark. A Gothic architectural treasure, the 150-year-old statehouse was built to look and function like a castle, leading some locals to call it “Louisiana’s Castle.” We will open and close the conference at this magnificent landmark with a “Welcome to Louisiana” event Monday night and the annual ACI Awards Ceremony Thursday night. If you want to learn more about this landmark, checkout their Web site at www.sos.louisiana.gov/tabid/245/Default.aspx.

Plan to stay through Friday and travel to some of Louisiana’s exotic locations. Field trip options include North Lake Nature Center, St. Tammany Trace (walk, bike or canoe), Oak Alley or Myrtles Plantation tour, and Pearl River Eco-tour. You can check these out for yourself through the links below.

These trips will cost extra. Sign-up for the trips will take place at the conference. As we confirm group prices we will post them to the Web site and take your feedback on the three most popular trips.
