“The only constant is change, continuing change, inevitable change, that is the dominant factor in society today. No sensible decision…[can be made]… without taking into account not only the world as it is, but the world as it will be.” Isaac Asimov

This year's conference focus is The Changing Climate of Conservation and the program is packed with challenges, “idea” sessions and fun!

Wildlife management and the demands on Fish and Wildlife agencies are undergoing many changes and we will be looking at some of them including effects of climate change; changes in human/wildlife interactions; managing wildlife where traditional methods are no longer viable and dealing with changing audiences.

Breakout sessions throughout the conference will bring together journalists, editors, photographers, videographers and educators to share their challenges and their successes.

We look forward to seeing you in Massachusetts!

Cheers from the Conference Co-Chairs,

Ellie Horwitz, Massachusetts Division of Fisheries & Wildlife
Judy Stokes, New Hampshire Fish & Game Department
Laurel Remus, New York Department of Environmental Conservation

Check out the Program at a Glance to see how the sessions are shaping up!

Cost of the conference is only $200 (early bird)! Conference Registrations will be accepted by mail or fax.

Quick Facts on Eastover Resort

Dress Code--Eastover Resort is a comfortable, casual family oriented facility. Dress is definitely casual—no need for any formal wear at all! Shorts and t-shirts can be the norm if you choose! As an example, we hold our Becoming An Outdoorswoman weekend workshops at Eastover—and many of you already know those are less than formal affairs!

Amenities --There is an indoor and outdoor pool and a sauna (if you’re not too hot to handle it!), horseback riding and tennis courts on site. October Mountain State Forest abuts the property, there are woodland trails to explore with rental mountain bikes or on foot.

Be aware that there is no air-conditioning, but there are fans in your rooms. Most evenings the temps cool down for a good night’s sleep. In keeping with Eastover’s philosophy of creating your own fun at a recreational resort, there are no televisions in your rooms. There is a television in the Mansion Library and in the American Heritage Room.

Planning to Come Early or Stay Later Than the Conference? If so, contact the Eastover to discuss rates for those nights you plan to be in the area.

Bringing Young Family Members? This is great and if enough kids come, Eastover can set up a Kids Camp for conference attendees.
