Great
Ideas in Conservation Awards
Results What a great time we had at ACI 2002! Those "Country Roads" took us to Wonderful, Wild West Virginia at the stunning National Conservation Training Center. The conference committee, comprised of representatives of the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, pulled together outstanding instructors and selected some prime examples of resource planning and recreation for the sessions and the half-dozen day and half-day field trips. The theme for the event was Great Ideas in Conservation and the agenda reflected the responses from the recent ACI survey to provide topics in the areas of marketing, education, technical computer applications, and web topics. Each session in the individual tracks, or "trails" were repeated twice to eliminate that hard decision on what to attend. For more details, see the conference details. The Mountain State folks showcased a slate of excellent local talent during the week. We enjoyed dulcimer players, string bands, folk storytellers, and photography. A special barbeque was held on the patio of the main lodge on Monday night. |
