ACI Conference Right Around the Corner!!!!!!!

Registration and information packets for the 61st annual ACI conference in Cody, Wyoming, were mailed May 20. If you haven’t received yours, contact us at 1-800-548-9453.

We have a great program planned, including some wonderful field trips and entertainment throughout the conference. Please take a few minutes to review the information. Pay particular attention to the important registration and lodging dates and deadlines.

Cody is in the heart of the Bighorns and at the mouth of the east entrance to Yellowstone National Park. The scenery in any direction is spectacular! The weather can be anything: very hot and dry, warm, cool, chilly, maybe windy, rainy, perhaps some snow in the higher elevations—or downright cold. We recommend preparing for all kinds of weather.

We will provide shuttle transportation TO AND FROM Logan International Airport in Billings, Montana, and Yellowstone Regional Airport in Cody. The drive from the airport in Montana is about 1-1/2 hours, and I’m told it’s very scenic. The Cody airport is just minutes away from the resort, and scenic as well.

The Buffalo Bill Resort is a complex of three lodging facilities—the Comfort Inn, Holiday Inn and the Village, which are cabins. The cabins are rustic on the outside and modern on the inside. I stayed in a cabin recently, so I can tell you firsthand, they are very nice and cozy. All three facilities are within a very short walk of each other. The conference sessions and hospitality area will be at the Holiday Inn. Check out Buffalo Bill Village Resort’s Web site at www.blairhotels.com.

An icebreaker is planned for Friday night in the Bandana Room, a very cool saloon, complete with western period décor and atmosphere. You can even belly up to the bar, have a “sarsaparilla” and a snack while you get acquainted with old and new friends and listen to some great western entertainment.

Saturday, the first full session day, concludes with an hour’s tour of the Draper Museum, followed by a reception in one of the gardens at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center.

Wait until you see and experience the site for this year’s auction Sunday evening! We’ll load everyone up and head to the high country for an evening of food, fun and entertainment. We’ve snagged some great entertainment to kick off the auction and assist Steve “Wild Auction Man” Wilson. So, bring or ship an item or two AND a trip or two (shipping address is on the registration form). We’ll accept American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and even Diner’s Club this year; plus checks and cash, of course.

Monday is field day. There’s so much to do in and around Cody, that we had a tough time narrowing down the many options available to us. We think we’ve got a great lineup, and we hope everyone participates.

Tuesday is the final conference day. It will begin with a breakfast buffet and business meeting (everyone is welcome!) and end with the awards banquet, with Awards Chair Nels Rodefeld from Oklahoma at the podium.

Cody and the folks at Buffalo Bill Resort are ready for ya! And so are we. So get your plans made, your registration and travel information AND auction items in the mail, and we’ll see ya in July!
