Don’t Forget! 2003 ACI Conference – Experience Beautiful Wyoming!

By Judith Hosafros and Tom Reed

Please join us in beautiful Cody, Wyoming, for the 61st annual ACI conference at the Buffalo Bill Village Resort Friday, July 25, through Wednesday, July 30. Here we’ll discuss the legacy of communication in conservation, with topics on a wide range of subjects and informative seminar sessions.

The folks at Buffalo Bill Village Resort are excited and looking forward to all of us ACIers, beginning Thursday, July 24. We’ve scheduled board and committee meetings for Friday, July 25.Registration begins that day as well. (More about conference rates at Buffalo Bill Village Resort.)

Lamar ValleySaturday kicks off the conference with a big welcome to Wyoming, followed by the keynote on the importance of the conservation message. Later on, we’ll tour the recently opened Draper Museum with founding director Chuck Preston. Stick around following the tour for a reception at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. Chat with Dr. Preston. Get acquainted with ACI newbies and meet up with old friends. Take the evening to explore the town of Cody, experience some fine eatin’ and perhaps do some boot scootin’.

We are planning a great conference, including workshops on a host of topics to hone skills and the craft of communication. We’ll cover the bases from print and broadcast media to innovations in electronic communication.

We’re planning awesome field trips, too: Fly-fishing, biking, a Yellowstone Park tour, a sightseeing trip to the beautiful Beartooth Mountains, and more.

The conference ends Tuesday, July 29, with the awards banquet, an event you don’t want to miss.

And to ease the pain of traveling, we’ve arranged for shuttle transportation to and from the airport in Billings, Montana, as well as Cody, beginning Wednesday, July 24, through Wednesday, July 30. So mark your calendars, come early, stay late, and poke around the wild frontier at the edge of our nation’s first and most famous national park.
